In 1756 a large kiln for firing porcelain was constructed to Vinogradov’s design, making it possible to produce pieces which were relatively big for that period. For Empress Elizabeth’s banquets, the first dining service – “Her Majesty’s Own” – was created. The items in the service stand out for the soundness of their shapes, the wavy edges and distinctive decoration in form of a carved and gilded latticework pattern incorporating purple forget-me-nots. The lidded bowls, baskets, dishes and salt-cellars are embellished with garlands of flowers that were moulded by hand. The artfulness of the execution makes every piece unique.
